Johannesburg Hop-On-Hop-Off Bus Tour

The Johannesburg Sightseeing Hop-On-Hop-Off bus tours are a wonderful learning experience for kids and parents alike. Learn about the history of icon buildings and sights in the city and hop off to explore and hop back on when you’re ready to move on.

Serendipity Playpark

This is a great experience for kids with a fully equipped jungle gym and play park, with a dress up area as well as various arts and crafts to keep the kids entertained and get the creative juices flowing. Serendipity Playpark is also a great birthday party venue to keep in mind.

In Your Pocket

This urban picnic experience includes great open lawns for kids to run around on while mom and dad enjoy great music, food and cocktails. Also stick around for the evening to come a catch the screening of wonderful movies in the open-air cinema. An all round wonderful family day out.

National Children’s Theatre

The theatre is a wonderful opportunity for the kids to experience some of their favourite stories and movies on stage in well crafted plays and pantomimes. For the creative kids there are also drama lessons available. Find out more on their website.

Art Jamming

This is a must for all ages and offers a creative and colourful experience to create a masterpiece on your choice of canvas and colours while enjoying a relaxed environment. We highly recommend this activity to all parents.

Avalanche

If you’re got a little adrenaline junkie on your hands or older kids this is the perfect place for you. With bumboarding, snowboarding and many other fun activities, a trip to Avalanche will definitely get the blood pumping. They also host birthday parties, if that is something your kids are into.

Johannesburg Zoo

A trip to the zoo is always fun and educational. Your kids will learn about different animal species and how they are being protected. There is a restaurant and bringing a picnic along to enjoy as a family is welcome. We highly recommend paying the zoo a visit with the kids.

Kloofendal Nature Reserve

Just 25 kilometres from the city centre, this nature reserve is home to a number of small mammals such as duiker, mountain reedbuck, dassie, mongoose, hedgehog, black-backed jackal, mole rat, gerbil and more. There is a stone amphitheatre with a picnic area and walking trails. A perfect pace for some outdoor fun in nature.

Liberty Stables

The Liberty Stables are named after an award winning horse named Royal Liberty and equestrian instruction continues in his memory. For animal lovers this is a great place to spend time with horses, learn to care for them, learn to ride and have a fun birthday party.

Cedar Junction

Cedar Junction has a little something for everyone with rides, a market, water paddling and so much more. This ia wonderful place for kids to spend time outdoors, running about and having fun.

Zwartkop Quad Centre

For older kids and daring little ones a quad bike party or just some time on the dirt road, this is the perfect place. Of course there is also some fun for mom and dad with many adult riding opportunities. An all round great day out with the family.

Blue Crane Restaurant

The Blue Crane, situated in the heart of Pretoria next to the Austin Roberts Bird Sanctuary. They offer their famous breakfast and lunch buffet every Sunday, and have a custom built jungle gym for the kids while they experience the beauty of South Africa’s national bird, the Blue Crane.
